Soft Skill in AI Era
Soft Skills That Should Be Possessed in the AI Era by Forbes
In the era where Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays a role in almost every industry, the world of work is changing rapidly. Many professions are being replaced by automation, while many new job positions are emerging along with the demand for new skills
From a study of over 17 million job postings referenced by Forbes, it points out that no matter how advanced technology becomes, one thing AI still cannot replace is “Human Skills” or Soft Skills.
##Why Soft Skills Are Important in the AI Era AI can process large amounts of data quickly, accurately, and perform repetitive tasks better than humans. But AI still lacks the ability for value-based decision-making, understanding humans, and creative thinking. Modern organizations are therefore not just looking for people who are “good at following orders” only, but are looking for people who can use AI, can think, and can adapt
##8 Important Soft Skills the Job Market Wants in the AI Era 1. Analytical Thinking – Knowing how to think and analyze. The ability to analyze data, distinguish problems, and connect reasons. This is a crucial skill for decision-making because AI can provide data, but “humans” must be the ones to choose how to use that data. 2. Resilience & Adaptability – Good at adapting, never giving up. The world of work changes fast; new professions arise constantly. People who learn quickly, can adapt, and don't stick to old methods will survive better. 3. Leadership & Social Influence – Leadership and communication. Leading teams, creating motivation, and working with others. These are skills AI still cannot do for humans, especially in work that relies on cooperation. 4. Creative Thinking – Thinking outside the box, creating new value. AI can help generate ideas, but “contextual creativity” — looking at problems from new angles and creating new value — remains a human strength. 5. Self-awareness & Motivation – Knowing and developing oneself. Understanding one's own strengths, weaknesses, and internal drives helps workers develop themselves continuously and handle pressure well. 6. Technological Literacy – Knowing how to use technology and AI. No need to write advanced code, but must understand what AI can and cannot do, and know how to use AI as a “tool,” not letting AI control decisions. 7. Empathy & Listening – Understanding others and building relationships. Understanding feelings, active listening, and working with diverse people is the heart of service work, management, and human-related work. 8. Lifelong Learning – Learning for a lifetime. The most important skill in a world that never stops changing is the ability to learn new things and keep oneself updated constantly.
##Key Observations from the Labor Market “The labor market doesn't just want smart people, but wants people who can use AI + can think + can adapt”
❌ People who only follow orders are at high risk of being replaced. ✅ People who know how to “order AI to work” and “decide with humanity” will have the advantage.
